046 - Enabling Health Rights of All

Koregaon Park (Pune) January 2017:
 Don Bosco conducted a Free Health Camp and a Health Awareness Workshop for the people of Indira Nagar and Tingre Nagar slums. 327 men, women and children took benefit of this health camp. It is part of the project that is financed by Manos Unidas, Spain.

The health camp was organized in association with Aundh District Hospital. Addressing the people attending the health Camp; Fr. Vincent voiced the poor state of health facilities in slums and the need for better health services for all. He congratulated the Don Bosco team for their efforts and thanked the organisation Manos Unidas for financing this project.

Dr. Irfan, then delivered a lecture on the preventive measure and treatment of common diseases like viral fever, Dengue, Chikungunya, pneumonia etc. Doctors in four specialization; Dermatology (Skin), Paediatrician, Gynaecology and General Physician examined the people and give free medicines also. Giving his feedback on the medical examination Dr. Irfan, shared that they found few cases of anaemia in children and women, women with Calcium deficiency, some of the women and major Gynaecology problem. Doctors referred 10 women to take further treatment from Government Aundh District Hospital.

Mrs. Ranjana Pandit (Co-ordinator of Don Bosco) thanked the Doctors from Aundh Hospital for their whole hearted support to the health camp. She also thanked the people for their overwhelming participation in the health camp.
