052 - PROVIDING HEALTH CARE FOR THE NEEDY by Don Bosco and AXA

Chinchwad (Pune) 12-February-2017:
As part of the women empowerment project by Don Bosco Development Society and supported by AXA Business Services; 107 women and Children benefited from the free Health Camp organized at Phulenagar slum in Chinchwad. The camp was held in collaboration with Doctors and their team from Lokmanya Medical College.

All the beneficiaries were from poor and needy families of the slums who can’t afford private health care services. Drs. Amruta Bakshi and Vijyalaxmi Sawant along with other junior doctors, interns and qualified team examined the people during this health camp. This camp had several specialities: rheumatic arthritis, anaemia, skin, menstrual irregularities, respiratory illness (cough / cold / migraine), gastric problem, worms in children, calcium deficiency, joints pain, etc were identified, examined and treated. Some patients were even referred to Lokmanya hospital for further treatment.

The beneficiaries were extremely grateful to Don Bosco and AXA for this golden opportunity provided to them – they also placed on record their sincere thanks to Lokmanya Medical College.
