Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra in collaboration with Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) constructed 5 check dams at Devgaon, Mehekari, Agadgaon and Pimpalgaon Kauda villages. The project was fully financed by TPCDT. These are small dams constructed in stone masonry across streams in order to store runoff. They are constructed in the lower reaches of a watershed and have larger water storage capacities. Their function is to store water above ground for use after the rainy season and also recharging the nearby wells. A good number of marginalized farmers will benefit from these dams and will be able to take an extra crop during the year. Our special thanks to Mr. Vishwas Sonawale, Associate TPCDT and Fr George Dabreo (Director - BGVK) and his team for their hard work to complete these dams in two months.
