Mumbai- 16th June 2017:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Matunga organized a workshop on ‘Project Proposal Writing workshop using Logframe Analysis’ for the staff of its partners. Development professionals from different institutes participated in this workshop. Mr Mahesh Kumar - (Project Manager – DBDS) was the resource person for the workshop.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) welcomed the gathering and shared his insights on why a workshop of this nature is so important. The first half of the workshop covered basic information about the proposal writing which included explaining development terminologies, donor analysis, SWOT analysis, situational analysis, problem tree and objective analysis etc. A ‘case study’ was presented and participants were asked to do group work.

In the second half the concept of Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) was explained in details. Various examples were cited to explain the vertical, horizontal and zig-zag logic inherent in the LFA. Group exercises were given to get familiarize with LFA. The entire structure of a ‘project proposal’ was explained to participants. It included ‘Do’s’ and ‘Don’ts, and ‘how to persuade a donor to fund a project’. The workshop was without any development jargons and concepts were explained in the simplest language.
