1010 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Income Generation Training for Slum Women

Mumbai, 12-Feb-2020: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a two-day training workshop from 11th to 12th February on ‘cooking and snacks making skills’ for the women residing at Nityanand Nagar Reclamation slum in Bandra (West). 40 women completed the entire training held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the families connected to this project. Mrs. Vidhya Agawane was the resource person. During the training 8 different kinds of Nutritional snacks recipes were taught to participants. These included Kothambir Vadi, Veg. Pizza, Poha Pakoda, Rava Kachori, Rava Medu Vada, Batata Kachori, Cheese Omelette, Bread Omelette etc. Participants of the training were selected based on an interview.

The trainers also conducted session on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. The participants dedicatedly learnt the skills and were determined to start-up a small business. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Kavita Kamble.
