1080 DBDS and AXA Reaches Out To 3,000 People: Mostly To Commercial Sex Workers, Transgender and Widows

Chinchwad, May-2020: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) in joint collaboration with AXA Business Services is reaching out to 3,000 poor and needy in the slums of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Through these relief operations DBDS and AXA is providing one-month ration of food items, toiletries and hygiene kits for the most vulnerable categories like commercial sex workers, transgender, widows, etc.

On the first day of distribution 25 relief kits were distributed to the transgender and 30 kits to commercial sex workers in Pimpri-Chinchwad area. While doing these relief operations: social distancing and all the other government compliances were strictly adhered to. Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) speaking on the occasion said, “We are thankful that we could help. I also place on record my sincere thanks to AXA for sponsoring this project.”
