Pune (Koregaon Park), August-2020: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) in joint collaboration with AXA Business Services is reaching out to yet another 2200 poor and needy in the slums of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. In this phase-II of the covid-19 relief work; kits containing ration, toiletries and hygiene kits were distributed to widows and physically challenged at the Don Bosco campus in Koregaon Park.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) speaking on the occasion thanked AXA Business Services for sponsoring this project. Since many of the physically challenged could not come to collect their relief kits; their family members collected it on their behalf. Through these relief operations DBDS and AXA is reaching out to the most vulnerable categories like commercial sex workers, physically challenged, transgender, widows, etc.

Since April 2020 DBDS has DIRECTLY touched the lives of more than 1,60,000 poor and needy – providing for their basic needs during this challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic.
