Mumbai, September 2020: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) reached out to the widows residing in the slums of Mumbai. Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) speaking on the occasion mentioned that the DBDS staff did a survey of the widows who have absolutely no one to support them and based on it the really deserving ones were helped by providing them with ration that will last for more than a month along with other basic toiletries and hygiene kits.
Fr Rolvin thanked the following donors who financially supported this venture:
1) Carmel Preyra and friends
2) Anonymous donor
3) Rita Davids
Since April 2020 DBDS has touched the lives of more than 3,14,000 poor and needy – providing for their basic needs during this challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic.
