Mumbai, December 2020:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai has started two batches of Advance Level Training in ‘Beauty Care’ and ‘Tailoring’ for girls and women residing in various slums of Mumbai. One batch of beauty care skill with 24 students and another batch of tailoring skill with 19 students started under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - DBDS) speaking on the occasion said that, “we are also running basic courses in computer, tailoring and beauty care. However, this advance level training being imparted under the MGL project is specifically geared towards preparing the women for jobs and small-scale business. Through our past experience we are sure that almost 95% of these women who are trained use the skills for earning better livelihood. Thus these skills help the women in a big way in financially supporting their families.”

DBDS staff along with the instructors are ensuring the smooth functioning of the training programs and placements as well.
