121- Free Health Camp in Ramwadi Slum

Pune, 22-August-2017: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a free health camp that benefited 190 people from the slum of Ramwadi in Pune. This health camp was held in association with Aundh Surgical Hospital in Pune, under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas (Spain).

A team of 6 doctors included Dermatologist, Pediatrician, Gynecologist and General Physician and their para-medical staff checked 190 patients – children and adults. 70 people were identified to be diabetic patients. Sharing his experience Dr. Deshpande said, “No major illnesses were found but there are cases of anemia, cough, cold, worms in children, joints pain, low BP etc.” Free medicines were distributed and people with serious illness were referred to Aundh Hospital.
