1216 Health Care and Awareness Project in Vadodara

Vadodara (Gujarat), January 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) is implementing a health care and awareness project for the under-privileged children in the city of Vadodara. This project is financially supported by Mix for Kids, e.v. (Germany).

Health Awareness Session for Girls and Boys

Health awareness session for girls was conducted on 7-January-2021 in GIDC area. 18 girls participated in this session. Another Health awareness session for boys was conducted on 9-January-2021 in Chaturai Nagar. 28 Boys participated in this session. Mrs Jagruti Patil (Coordinator) was the resource person. She covered following topics:

  • COVID-19 infection, prevention and vaccination
  • Personal hygiene and sanitation
  • Waste management
  • Illness and diseases prevention
Health Awareness Session for Adolescent Girls

A Health awareness session was conducted for adolescent girls on 16-January-2021 at Somatav area for 20 girls. Mrs. Jagruti Patil covered the following topics:

• Physical and Psychological changes.
• Menstruation details and cleanliness
• Information about sanitary pads.
• For stomach and back pains they should consult a doctor.
• Reproductive health risks
• Difference between COVID-19, common cold, FLU, Allergies.
• Preventive measures
• Government guidelines
• Stigma prevention and positive attitude

A question and answer session was held in the end. Girls asked questions which were all answered by the resource person. Snacks were served to all after the session.
