1219 MGL Disha Project: Advance Tailoring and Beauty Care Skills for Women

Mumbai, January 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai started two batches of Advance Training in ‘Beauty Care’ and ‘Tailoring’ for girls and women residing in various slums of Mumbai. One batch of advance beauty care skills with 26 students and another batch of advance tailoring skills with 31 students started this month under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Limited.

Each course is of 60 working days. The advance Beauty Care Skills include imparting skills in Skin science, Skin structure, Skin function, Skin preparation, Skin pathology, Cosmetic chemistry, Advanced facials, Hairstyling, Advanced Spa Rituals& Treatments, Colour Techniques, Keratin Treatment, Straightening & Perming, Shampoo and conditioning, Hair spas, treatments, and rituals etc.

The advance Beauty Care Skills include imparting skills in Design, draft, pattern making cutting, stitching and finishing of the garments, (frock, gents pyjama, petticoat, churidar pyjama, ladies kurta, salwar etc.), Surface decoration of garments using embroidery, laces, buttons, beads, sequins, fold, iron, pack and cost evaluation of stitched garment etc.

Ms Sneha Renuka, resident of Motilal Nagar who is undergoing training in beauty care expressed her gratitude by saying “Beauty Care Teacher is highly skilled and experienced in her trade. She is friendly and dedicated. She explains the process and application in detail and give time to practice also. Thanks to Don Bosco and Mahanagar for providing this course free to us.”
