1228 Urban Slum Education Project in Vadodara

Vadodara (Gujarat), February 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) is running 25 remedial classes under ‘Urban Slum Education Project’ aimed at assisting marginalized and deprived children from slums of Vadodara financed by Kindermissionswerk (Aachen, Germany).

More than 500 slum children are presently benefiting from this project. The Coordinator held two review meetings with the teaching staff. The agenda of these meetings was to discuss the progress of the project and corrective measures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the activities. The evaluation result of each student was presented by the teachers and the problems and learning difficulties of weak students were also discussed. Special attention was given to the improvement in cognitive abilities of children and methods of teaching concepts in Maths and Science.
