Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), February 2021:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) through its implementing partner Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) has already begun successfully implementing second phase of the rural biogas project in the villages of rural Maharashtra. BGVK has already completed 40 Biogas units during the second phase. This project is financially supported by Don Bosco Mondo, Bonn – Germany.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) during his visit to some of the beneficiaries at Sonewadi and Ratadgaon villages said that these units are benefitting the households wherever they are installed. Mrs Seema Berad, one of the beneficiaries said that the biogas unit has cut down the use of firewood in her house. She has much free time now as she doesn’t have to scout for wood for her daily cooking and other needs. She also gets very good compost from this biogas unit. She is very much indebted to BGVK for this intervention in her family.

Fr George D’abreo (Director – BGVK) expressed his sincere thanks to Don Bosco Mondo for their support in this venture. He also assured that the set targets would be successfully achieved in this second phase as done in the previous phase.
