Mumbai, March 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) distributed more than 14,500 packets of ‘soupy Noodles’ in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - DBDS) thanked Hindustan Unilever Limited for sponsoring these noodles.

Various categories from the under-privileged sector of the society benefited from this distribution drive. It almost took two full months to successfully complete this drive; in order to ensure the poorest of the poor is benefited.

Miss Surekha Pednekar along with DBDS staff distributed the noodles in 35 slum pockets of Mumbai from Kurla to Sewri and Chembur to Bandra West mostly to the women and children. Fr George D’Abreo along with his dedicated team of social workers, coordinated the distribution drive in the districts of Ahmednagar and Beed – the noodles were distributed to women and children in 26 villages of these two districts. The families were mostly tribals and daily-wage workers.

Fr Mayank Parmar along with his staff successfully did the distribution in the state of Gujarat; in the districts of: Kheda, Panchmahal and Chottaudepur. Here the beneficiaries were mostly people from Bhilala tribe, Rathwa tribe and the schedule caste people from many backward villages.
