Mumbai, March 2021:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) distributed school bags, stainless steel water-bottles, lock-seal tiffin boxes and geometry boxes to 96 children residing in the slums of Kurla and Ghatkopar. This venture was financially supported by the Association of Auxilium India (Seregno, Italy) in loving memory of Maria Tagliabue in Radaelli.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director - DBDS) speaking on the occasion thanked the Association of Auxilium India for their support. He also informed that all these children attend the daily remedial classes conducted by DBDS in the various slums of Mumbai which is part of the MGL Disha Project.

Fr McEnroe Lopes from Don Bosc Kurla was the chief guest for the event. He encouraged the children to study well and stay health. The distribution took place in the ‘Modini Hall’- with less than 25% attendance of its full sitting capacity due to the COVID-19 restrictions. All the other mandatory regulations like: sanitizing of hands, checking of temperatures, wearing of masks and social distancing were strictly followed; these precautions were personally monitored by Fr Rolvin himself. The children went back delighted and grateful for all that they received to enhance their educational journey.
