Ahmednagar, Maharashtra: The Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) in Ahmednagar has started a 65-bed Covid Care Centre since 01-April in their own campus and so far 290 people have fully recovered and returned to their homes. This is a joint venture along with the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation.

Apart from providing nutritious meals and the required medical treatment – BGVK is also ensuring that yoga and meditation is organized every morning. Instructions regarding their health and nutrition, nature walks in allocated spaces, indoor games and recreation are some of the special features that one can witness in this Centre.

Fr George D’abreo (Director - BGVK) is heading these operations along with his team of Salesians and young volunteers. Fr George mentioned that 24x7 there are doctors and para-medical staff present at this Covid Centre. Saturation levels and temperatures are closely monitored round the clock and so also the medical team ensures that the patients take their medications on time.

Those feeling well and are due for discharge are given further instructions on taking care of themselves as they go to their homes; so also tablets and cough syrup are freely provided at the time of discharge. “We really felt at home – thanks for the personal care” are the voices often heard as they move out of this Covid Care Centre with cherished memories for life.
