1273 Health, Sports, Nutrition and Spice-Making projects for the under-privileged in Vadodara

Vadodara (Gujarat), April 2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) is currently implementing three projects in the city of Vadodara that are financially supported by Mix for Kids e.v. (Germany):

1) Spice Project for Women Empowerment

2) Sports and Nutrition Project for Children

3) Health and Education Project for Children

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director-DBDS) and Fr George Miranda (Director- Snehalaya) along with the team of committed collaborators are successfully implementing this task. There are regular meetings (online or physical) to discuss the operations, financial status and implementation of the project activities. Improvised action plans are updated regularly to deal with the consequences whenever there is a lockdown is imposed in the city.

Health Awareness Sessions

Two health awareness sessions were conducted for the adolescent girls in the slums of Vadodara city. The first health awareness session was organized in J.P Nagar slum for 59 girls and the second was organized in Kisanwadi slum for 28 adolescent girls. Miss Jagruti Patil (Project Coordinator) was the resource person for these sessions. The objective of the session was to educate girls on health, hygiene, nutrition and COVID-19 pandemic and precautions. She also taught Yoga exercises for healthy living. The sessions ended with sumptuous snacks for all.
