Jambughoda (Gujarat), July-2021: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) in association with Don Bosco Narukot conducted series of Covid awareness campaigns in 15 different villages of Panchmahal district in Gujarat. These awareness campaigns are part of a bigger project that is presently catering to more than 13,000 poor and needy in Gujarat; financially supported by Manos Unidas (Spain).

Fr Stanny Ferreira along with two lay-staff and eight volunteers successfully implemented this task. The immediate effect of this venture was tangibly visible through the increase in the number of people coming forward to take the covid vaccine in the government centres – the local government expressed thanks to Don Bosco for this initiative.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) thanked ‘Manos Unidas’ for their generous support. He also mentioned that this project is benefiting the tribals living in the forests areas of Gujarat as well as the landless farmers in different remote villages. Ration distribution, awareness campaigns and catering to the safety of frontline workers are the prime objectives of this emergency relief project.
