Matunga (Mumbai), 16-September-2017: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a one day workshop for youth residing in the slums of Dharavi. 55 young boys and girls participated in this workshop. The objective of this workshop was to sensitize the youth on the risks and hazards that exist in the slums due to its locations, high density of population, garbage, presence of domestic small scale industries etc. Mr. Sachin Khedekar (Director- Chetana Foundation) was the resource person for this workshop.

This was the 2nd workshop for the youth and hence it was like the advance training and hence Mr. Khedekar immediately after introducing the topic and explaining matters like types of Disaster (Man-made v/s Natural), emergency services, rescue and relief, etc. Moved to techniques and methods like Bandage Method –A, Triangular Bandage B, simple Bandage C- Cuff & collar Bandage, D- Head bandage, E- Jaw Bandage and F- Palm Bandage etc.

Mr. Sunil Pandhre (DBDS - Career Coordinator) gave his feedback on the workshop and also proposed the vote of thanks. All the youth were delighted with the workshop and went back enriched.
