139 Slum Kids Ready for Diwali

Chinchwad (Pune), 22-September-2017: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized Diya panting, Akashkandil making, Diwali greeting card making and Drawing activities for children to prepare them for Diwali festival. More than 120 slum children studying daily in the support classes conducted by DBDS participated in this activity. The activity was held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by AXA Business Services Pvt Ltd.

The main objective of this activity was that children learn and enjoy creative craft activities. Mrs. Vaishali Palande and Mr. Manoj Kumar were resource persons for this activity. Mr. Tushar Salave and Mr. Ujawal Sharma from AXA Business Services were very helpful in the event. The children were super excited about it and they enjoyed the activity. Snacks were distributed to all the children at the end at the end of the event.

“It’s for the first time that we had such a lovely experience in life; we have celebrated so many Diwali festivals but never had such a nice preparation for the same” said master Akash Gaikwad (regular student of the daily support class).
