Vadodara (Gujarat), 29-September-2017: Roshni Don Bosco organized the celebrations of Navratri Festival for more than a week from 21st September to 27th September for the slum children from the city who attend the daily educational support classes. This programme was held under the aegis of ‘Children Education Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

These celebrations were held on different days in different classes in the slums. The Navratri festival was celebrated with great joy and vigour. Students came in traditional colourful dresses of Chaniya Cholis and Kurtas. Children danced (Gharba) to the folk tunes of music on all these days. The children’s joy knew no bounds and it was definitely an experience of a lifetime.

Ms Jagruti Patil (Project – Coordinator) was the main organizer of all the events in collaboration with the Self-Help Group women, who have been the beneficiaries of the Don Bosco Slum Project for several years.
