144 Awareness on Addiction for Youth and Parents

04-October-2017, Mumbai:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized an awareness session on addiction for youth and their parents at Mahatma Phule Nagar in the slums of Mumbai. 35 people participated in the programme; held in association with Nasha Bandi Mandal.

Ms Zarina Khan (Staff – DBDS) welcomed the resource persons and the participants for the session. Mr Sunil Chavan, Mr Nandu Bansode and Ms Sonal Anubhara (Staff - Nasha Bandi Mandal) lectured on the types of addictions, its ill effects, possible treatment and de-addiction process.

The resource persons through their sessions also created awareness on prevention and rehabilitation. Major focus was on addiction to smoking, alcohol and chewing tobacco. It was an enlightening session for all the participants. Mrs. Rupa Dalbanjan (Member of Swatantra Self Help Group – DBDS) proposed the vote of thanks.
