166 FREE HEALTH CAMP FOR FLOOD AFFECTED SLUM PEOPLE

Mumbai – 15-November-2017:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) conducted a Free Health Camp for the women from the slums of Wadala - more than 154 women & men benefited through this camp. DBDS in association with the Seven Hills Hospital conducted it for the poor and needy people from the slums. This health camp was held under the aegis of ‘Flood Relief Project’ supported by DON BOSCO MONDO, Germany.

Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Programme Coordinator - DBDS) welcomed all the General Physicians, their Para-medical staff and Fr. Diego (Administrator – St. Domnic Savio Church; which was the venue of the Health Camp). During the welcome address she also placed on record her special thanks to Ms. Ranjana and Ms. Anita (Staff - DBDS) for arranging this camp.

The health camp saw ladies visiting in huge numbers as the slums in Bhimwadi and Wadala (East) lack proper public health care services. The Health Camp provided specialised screening and consultation with experts on Dental check - up Naturopathy, Eye check-up, Cancer, Kidney, Heart (cardiac) related problems.

The camp was held in collaboration with the Seven Hills Hospital, Mr. Shushant, Drs. Rohan Jadhav, Neha and Khwaja and their team examined the people during this health camp. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized cost of Rs. 60 to 100 only.

The women were also grateful to Don Bosco and Seven Hills Hospital for offering such a wide range of check-ups free of cost. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Ranjana, who also specially thanked Fr. Diego for the excellent arrangements provided at the venue.
