176 CARING ABOUT THE HEALTH OF SLUM PEOPLE: Free Health Camp

Mumbai, 22-November-2017:
The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Mumbai, conducted a Free Health Camp for more than 200 women & men in the slums of Mumbai. DBDS in association with the Seven Hills Hospital conducted it for the poor and needy people; under the aegis of ‘Flood Relief Project’ supported by DON BOSCO MONDO, Germany.

Mrs. Surekha Pednekar (Coordinator - DBDS) welcomed all the General Physicians, their Para-medical staff and Mr. Kazi Mallik (Incharge of Khair - E –Ummat Trust - which was the venue of the Health Camp). During the welcome address she also placed on record her special thanks to Ms. Ranjana (Staff - DBDS) for arranging this camp.

The health camp saw ladies visiting in huge numbers as the slums in Bhimwadi and Wadala (East) lack proper public health care services. The Health Camp provided specialised screening and consultation with experts on Dental check - up Naturopathy, Eye check-up, Cancer, Kidney, Heart (cardiac) related problems.

Dr. Rohan Jadhav, Dr. Neha Qureshi, Dr. Pinky Patil and Dr. Khwaja along with their team examined the people during this health camp. People with defective eye-sight were given spectacles at a highly subsidized cost of Rs. 100 to 200 only. The women were grateful to Don Bosco and Seven Hills Hospital for offering such a wide range of check-ups free of cost. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Ranjana Gangurde.
