11-Dec-2017, Chinchwad (Pune): AXA Business Services Senior Management and their Assistant staff participated in a free eye check-up camp and drawing activity organized by Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad. The participants included Ms. Marie Louise Elhabre (CEO - AXA), Mr. Nagarajan V (Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources and Communication), Mr. Solomon Devaraj (Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer) and other dignitaries.

It started with the arrival of AXA team in the morning received by Fr Corlis Gonsalves (Director of Training - Don Bosco Chinchwad). The school children welcomed the guests by aarti, tika and presenting garlands. Ms. Marie, Mr. Nagarajan and Mr. Solomon were escorted to the stage. Followed by lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the guests.

In his inaugural address Fr Corlis thanked the management of AXA for supporting Don Bosco project in Chinchwad. In her speech Ms. Marie Louise expressed her happiness and thanked Don Bosco and everyone for the event. Immediately, after that Mr Mahesh Kumar (DBDS - Sr Manager-Projects) gave a brief about the achievements of Don Bosco-AXA project being implemented in Chinchwad.

This was followed by felicitating 6 enterprising ladies from the slums who had started small business after getting trained under Don Bosco-AXA project, followed by lunch with children. The AXA team distributed packed lunch to children which consisted of Pulav rice, Rayta, Puri, Bhaji and Gulabjamun. Lunch was also distributed to school staff, hospital staff team and project staff.

After lunch school children continued with the eye check-up procedure and children of 5th Standard participated in the drawing competition. The AXA team distributed the drawing sheets and colours to children and then picked up 3 best drawings and announced them as winners.

At the end, Ms. Marie distributed chocolates to the children and staff present for drawing competition and remaining chocolate packets were given to school administrator for later distribution to children. In the eye check-up 16 students were identified with low eye sight who will be given free spectacles by AXA Business Services. The programme ended with a joint photo session of Don Bosco and AXA team as a souvenir of this event. Fr Corlis thanked everyone for their contribution to the event and making it a successful event.
