Pune, (Chinchwad), 27-Dec-2017: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a free health camp for the residents of Mahatama Phule Nagar slum in Chinchwad. 107 people were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services.

The camp was held in collaboration with Doctors and their team from STAR Hospital and H.V. Desai Hospital in Pune. Dr. Richal Sibi, Dr. Sharad Shinde and Dr. Apam Bhire along with three Nurses, two medical Social workers examined the patients during this health and eye camp. B.P, Sugar level, ECG and ENT tests were done for all patients. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections etc.

Seven Cataract patients were identified in this camp who will be treated free of cost in their hospital. Medicines for the people with illness were distributed free and people with defective vision were given specs at a discounted price of Rs.60 only. Mrs. Vrushali Unhale (Social Worker-DBDS) did all the logistical arrangement and canvassing for this health camp.
