Chinchwad (Pune), 30-Dec-2017: 170 children from eight slums of Chinchwad gathered in Don Bosco (Chinchwad) to celebrate the Christmas festival and welcome New Year 2018. Most of these children belonged to families associated with the Self-Help Groups run through the project supported by AXA Business Services.

Christmas celebration began with a short prayer service and the traditional lighting of the lamp. Children came dressed up in their party attire, they were given the Santa Claus caps. There were action songs, Christmas tree, New Year drawing, group dances (Christmas dance and cultural dances), funny games, etc. All this left children amazed and mesmerized.

Towards the end Santa Claus arrived and filled the entire crowd with joy and danced with everyone with great enthusiasm. The Santa distributed common gifts, cake and snacks to all. Amidst the fun and frolic the children were also given the central message of Christmas: love, joy and peace for everyone.
