Pune, 4-Jan-2018: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a ‘Health and Hygiene Awareness’ workshop for the young girls residing at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar slum in Pune. 15 girls attended this session held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ funded by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Miss. Nilima Chandhare (Trainer-DBDS) was the resource person for this workshop. In her session Miss. Nilima explained the important elements of girl’s physical and mental health and development process. She covered following topics in her session:
  • Physical changes in body. 
  • Psychological and emotional changes. 
  • How to keep balance of Psychological changes. 
  • Body cleanliness 
  • Female reproductive system 
  • Importance of Family support 
Miss Jyoti (Sr Social Worker-DBDS) explained about the importance of proper diet and nutrition in the growing period. Girls took active participation in the session and requested to organize more of such sessions. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator- DBDS) shared information about the project with the participants and encouraged them to take care of their health.
