The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai extended its warm wishes and hearty congratulations to the team at Matunga Central Railway station on becoming a first all-women railway station in India.

Fr Rolvin D’Mello (Executive Director – DBDS) on the occasion said, “On behalf of Don Bosco Organization I congratulate all of you and we are really proud of you. Women Empowerment is very dear to our heart since we too work in 35 slum pockets across Mumbai for several years. I am sure your example will inspire the women from the slums whom we are seek to empower.”

Station Manager Mamta Kulkarni thanked DBDS staff for their wishes and assured of her full support in the DBDS ventures for women empowerment. Looking at the increasing rate of rail accidents in the city; DBDS also plans to start a campaign on ‘Rail Safety’ especially for the people from the slums whose houses are near the railway tracks.
