23-Feb-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized an interactive session on ‘Road Safety and Traffic Rules’ for the children of Ambedkar Nagar slum in Pune. 43 Children participated in this workshop held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services Ltd.

The objective of this workshop was to educate children on traffic rules, road safety and road accidents. The event was held in association with Nigdi Traffic Police department. Ms. Lalita Chaudhrai (DBDS - Project Coordinator) welcomed the gathering and spoke on the purpose of this session.

Mr. Jadhav (Traffic Inspector) was the resource person in this session. He spoke on the growing traffic in the city and increasing risk of road accidents and what precautions children can take to prevent such accidents. Mr. Jadhav also spoke on traffic rules, road signals, traffic signs and what should be done in case of a road accident. Children were very enthusiastic and they asked lot of questions on traffic and road safety. In the end snacks were served to all the children and Ms. Lalita proposed the vote of thanks at the end of program.
