248 MGL DISHA PROJECT: Free Health Camp for Slum Children

The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), organized a free health check-up camp for the children in Ashok Nagar slum in Kurla. 177 children and women were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by Mahanagar Gas Ltd.

The purpose of health camp was to identify anaemic children and women in the slum. Patients were screened for anaemia using a symptoms questionnaire. This camp was held in association with Awabaiee Hospital (Family Planning Association of India) in Chembur (West). Dr. Naushin Ansari along with 2 Nurses and 2 Medical Social workers examined the patients during this health camp. DBDS staff did all the logistical arrangements for the entire health camp.
