The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a free general health check-up camp for the residents of Chandani Agar slum in Antop hill. About 215 men, women and children were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of the project supported by Don Bosco Mondo, Germany.

The camp was organized in association with Family Planning Association of India, Mumbai. The camp was held in the premises of Shivprerna Cooperative Housing Society. Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer - DBDS) inaugurated the camp; she welcomed and thanked Mr. Aakaram Chaukekar (Chairman- Shivprerna Hsg. Soc.) and Dr. Naushin Ansari & her team for their support to this camp.

Dr. Naushin Ansari along with two Nurses and two medical Social workers examined the patients during this health camp. Every patient underwent H.B level & ENT tests. Patients were diagnosed to be suffering from Joint pain, Fungal Infection, Common cold, menstrual irregularities, Calcium deficiency, Gastric Problem, Skin infections etc. Free Medicines were distributed during the camp. About 5 women patients were diagnosed with very low levels of Haemoglobin and about 60% of the people attending the camp were diagnosed to be suffering from various skin ailments.

Ms. Anita Kattimani (DBDS-Staff) worked hard to create awareness among the slum dwellers regarding the benefits of the free health camp and also mobilised people to attend the camp. The people attending the camp were all in praises of DBDS and thanked them for this great opportunity.
