256 STUDENT’S RALLY ON TOBACCO CONSUMPTION RISKS

16-Mar-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a rally to create awareness on issues related to health risk due to tobacco consumption. Over 185 students from I.T.I College participated in this rally held under the aegis of ‘Health risk reduction project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

The objective of the rally was to raise awareness on tobacco addiction, health risk, cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. School children gathered at their school ground in the morning at around 8:00 am. During the rally, the children walked through the lanes of Durga Nagar, Ajanta Nagar, Ambedkar nagar, Tharmax chowk and Yamuna Nagar road. In the rally, they carried placards carrying slogans to stop consuming tobacco, harmful effects of tobacco, cancer causes, effects of chewing gutkha etc.

The rally was held in association with I.T.I college and was fully supported by its management, principal and staff. Students were very excited to participate in the rally and they shouted slogans to send their message to people on their way. Chocolates and snacks were served to children after the rally.
