16-April-2018, Mumbai: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organised an exposure visit to Micro Business Enterprises situated in village Bahare in Dahanu taluka in Palghar district of Maharashtra. 15 women from different Self Help Groups (SHGs) residing in the slums of Antop Hill (Mumbai) participated in this programme held under the aegis of project supported by Don Bosco Mondo, Germany.

The purpose of this exposure visit was to give an opportunity to women to practically experience the working, operations and functioning of small scale businesses by interacting and learning from the entrepreneurs. The visit to ‘Adivasi Jeevan Vikas Kendra’ located in Gagan Village, Dahanu which is working with tribal SHGs was very enriching. The women met many successful micro entrepreneurs who are operating businesses like Ration Shop, agriculture farm, poultry farm etc.

The participants were very fascinated and thrilled by the visit and most of them were very excited to start their own small business. Sharing her feedback on the exposure visit, Mrs Regina Alphanso (one of the participant), said, “This is a unique experience, we met the entrepreneurs and learnt from them about their business and how we can also establish a business.” During the exposure visit Lunch and snacks were served to the participants. Mr Sunil Pandre (Staff-DBDS) and Mrs Anita (Staff-DBDS) made the logistical arrangement for this exposure visit.
