284 ADOLESCENT GIRLS HEALTH AWARENESS IN ASHOK NAGAR SLUM

21-April-2018, Koregaon Park (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Pune, organized an adolescent girl’s health awareness session at Ashok Nagar slum in Yerwada, Pune. 16 adolescent girls participated in this event held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Ms Nilima Chandhare (Trainer-DBDS) was the resource person for this event. The session began with an introduction by Mr. Nagsen Chavan about the works of Don Bosco Development Society. Ms. Jyoti Sonwane (Staff - DBDS) took interesting fruits game as an ice breaking session for girls. In her session Miss Nilima explained the important elements of girl’s development process. Her session included following topics:

· Physical body changes and their stress.

· Psychological and emotional changes.

· Female Reproductive System

· Hygiene and nutrition

· Importance of Family support

The girls actively participated in the session and got their doubts clarified in the question and answer session. Mrs. Leena Gaikwad (Staff - DBDS) arranged the logistics of this event. Program ended with vote of thanks by Mrs Gaikwad.
