15-June-2018, Vadodara (Gujarat): Roshini Don Bosco held 5 days’ sports festival for the children of support classes in the slums of Vadodara city. More than 350 children from different classes participated in this event held under the aegis of ‘Children Education Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

The main objective of this sports festival held from 10-June to 14-June was to promote physical sports among these slum kids. “These days we see more and more children getting addicted to television, computer and mobile. They spend lots of their time only on these gadgets and do not do sufficient physical activity and hence we conducted this sports festival,” said Miss Jagruti Patil (Coordinator – Roshni).

There were games like Lemon-Spoon, Musical Chairs, Kho-Kho, etc. Also since it was the end of summer vacations, this sports festival was a super success as it brought joy to the lives of these slum kids. More than the prizes all the children cherished the moments of fun and togetherness. They went back home physically and mentally refreshed.
