327 WORKSHOP FOR SLUM-DWELLERS ON ROAD SAFETY & FIRST AID TREATMENT

21-June-2018, Pune: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) organized a Road Safety and First Aid Treatment Training Programme for the women residing in the Gandhi Nagar slum in Pune. The programme was held under the aegis for ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

The programme was held at Jayprakash Nagar Community Hall in Gandhi Nagar slum. It started at 11.30 am and concluded at 2.20 pm. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (DBDS, Pune – Staff) welcomed guests and participants and introduced the activities of Don Bosco Development Society. He then invited the resource person Mr Ghanshyam Kolwani to educate the audience on Road safety and First aid treatment. In his session he covered various topics such as:

· Traffic Rules
· Precautions while driving or walking on roads
· Avoid drink and drive
· Road safety
· Helping people in road accidents; unconscious patient treatment, how to proceed, priorities etc.

Around 65 people participated in this event. Mr. Hardik, Ms. Khushi, Mr. Anup, Mr. Sajan, Vinod and 7 other staff volunteers from AXA Business Services also participated in this event. After the event sumptuous lunch packets were distributed to the participants. Program ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Lalita Chaudhari (DBDS, Chinchwad - Staff).
