332 FOUR DAYS SPICE MAKING WORKSHOP FOR SLUM WOMEN

29-June-2018, Pune: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a four days training workshop from 26-June to 29-June on ‘Indian Spices’ as a business activity. 18 women from Gandhi Nagar slum participated in this workshop. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Mrs. Rohini Jawalkar was the resource person for this workshop. During the training, the participants learnt to make 10 different kinds of spices: 1. Sambar Masala 2.Sunday Masala 3. Garam Masala 4. Pulav Masala 5. Kanda Lahsun Masala 6. Pav Bhaji Masala 7. Tea Masala 8.Chhole Masala 9.Chat Masala 10. Goda Masala.

Apart from teaching the production process, the resource person also taught marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product. The participants dedicatedly learnt the skills and also discussed on starting ‘Spice Making’ as a small business.
