341 ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION TO SCHOOL CHILDREN

14-July-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized an interactive session on ‘Road Safety and Traffic Rules’ for the students of Jai Bhavani High School in Mahatama Phule Nagar. 29 Students participated in this session which was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services Ltd.

Mr. Gulab Khedkar, Mr. Malikaarjun Pujari and Mr. Chamkure (Traffic Police department) were the resource person for this session. In their interactive session, they covered various topics related to road safety and also explained various traffic symbols used in day to day life.

They laid special emphasis on following points:

• Speed limits, helmet
• Drinking and driving
• Honking, headlight and use of dipper
• Traffic signals, waiting time
• Zebra crossing, speed breakers
• Emergency medical services, etc.

They also educated children on helping victims of road accidents. In case of accidents always call police by dialing numbers: 100 & 103. After the session snacks were served to all the children.
