18-July-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a rally to create awareness on addiction to tobacco in our society. More than 140 children from Mata Ramabai Ambedkar School participated in this rally held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction project’ supported by AXA Business Services. 

The objective of the rally was to raise awareness on addiction, chewing tobacco, smoking, cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. School children gathered at their school ground in the afternoon at around 1:30 pm where they were briefed by the project staff. From there they walked through the lanes of Ajantha Nagar slum.

In the rally, they carried placards carrying slogans to stop consuming tobacco, harmful effects of Tobacco, Cancer awareness, effects of chewing Gutkha, etc. Children were very excited to participate in the rally and they shouted slogans to send their message to residents and commuters on the way. Snacks were served to children after the rally.
