354 SPICES MAKING AND CULINARY SKILLS FOR SHG WOMEN

28-July-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a five days training workshop on Spices making and Culinary skills for the Self-Help Group (SHG) women from Ajantha Nagar slum in Chinchwad. The training was held during 24th July to 28th July 2018. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services Pvt Ltd.

Ms. Lalita Chaudhari (Coordinator-DBDS) introduced the Chief Guest and Resource Person and shared information about the project with the participants. Fr. Sanjay Lopes (Administrator-Don Bosco Chinchwad) was the Chief Guest for this training. The Training started with the lighting of lamp ceremony. The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the families connected to this project. 20 SHG members completed the entire training. The training was held in association with ‘Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya’ which is a government recognized training institution.
Mrs. Varsha Atole (Sr. Technical staff) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (Jr. Technical Staff) were the resource persons. During the training 9 different kinds of Spices and recipes were taught to participants. These included Tea masala, Biryani masala, Kandalasun masala, Sunday Masala, Gram Masala, Pavbhaji Masala, SambharMasala, Pav Bhaji dhokala, Vadapav, Missal pav, Matar- paneer, Chicken Maslala, Biryani recipe, White and red gravy etc Participants of the training were selected based on an interview. Mr. Dhananjay Khire (Business consultant) was the resource person for training on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product.
