Pune, 21-August-2018: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a free eye check-up camp for the residents of Bopodi Slum. 185 people were examined by the doctors in this camp held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.

Dr. Ranvare, Dr. Amol and their team from Bharati Eye Hospital examined the vision and health of eyes of people. The Camp started at 10.00 am and concluded at 2.00pm. 27 spectacles were given to people with defective eye sight. 9 Cataract patients identified in this camp were referred for Cataract surgery.

Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator - DBDS) introduced the doctors and procedure to be followed for examining the people. The DBDS staff: Ms. Nileema Chandhere, Ms. Jyoti Sonwane, Mrs. Priya Sonwane and Mrs. Leena Gaikwad assisted in mobilizing people and logistical arrangement of this camp.
