383 CULINARY AND CATERING SKILLS TRAINING FOR SHG WOMEN

8-September-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a five days training workshop on Culinary and Catering skills for the Self-Help Group (SHG) women from Indira Nagar slum in Chinchwad. This training was held from 4th to 8th September 2018. This training programme was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services Pvt Ltd.

The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the families connected to this project. 20 SHG members completed the entire training. Mrs. Varsha Atole (Sr. Technical staff) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (Jr. Technical Staff) were the resource persons. The training was held in association with ‘Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya’ which is a government recognized training institution.

During the training 15 different kinds of recipes were taught to participants. These included Bread Patis, Pav Bhaji, Dhokala, Vadapav, Missal pav, Matar- Paneer, Chicken Masala, Biryani recipe, white and red gravy etc. Participants of the training were selected based on an interview. Mrs. Uma Dhotre (In-charge of Khadi Gramudyog Kendra) was the resource person for training on marketing, costing, budgeting, pricing and branding of product.
