4-October-2018, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Chinchwad organized a roadside exhibition at Thermax Chowk in Chinchwad for the commuters. This health exhibition was held under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction Project’ supported by AXA Business Services.

The focus of this activity was to communicate health risks associated with tobacco consumption and its effect on personal and family life. The project team studied the spot in advance and found that thousands to people pass through this spot every day. The team assembled at Thermax Chowk in morning when there are maximum people on the road. They displayed the banners and posters with information on risks associated with the tobacco consumption. Through messages and visuals it highlighted the fact that easy availability of tobacco products and encouragement from peers, family etc. makes young people addicted to smoking and chewing tobacco.

The target audience of this street play was general public. Hundreds of commuters saw these posters while passing through this spot and around 78 visitors stopped to collect more information from the social workers. Their information was registered by the social workers. The social workers explained the information to the visitors and also shared information on the resources for tobacco cessation.
