11-October-2018, Koregaon Park (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS) Pune organized a training on ‘business management skills’ for the SHG women of Gandhi Nagar slum. 17 women participated in this training programme held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.
Mrs. Leena Gaikwad (DBDS-Staff) organized women for this programme. The participants of this programme had recently completed a training on ‘Spice making’ and were interested in learning about entrepreneurship and business management. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (DBDS - Coordinator) was the resource person for this training. In his session he focused on following:
Local market demands and Product selection
· Consumer need assessment
· Product marketing and promotion
· Packaging and pricing
· Distribution
· Purchase and sales
· Accounts management
Participants asked many questions which were all answered by the resource person. After the programme, certificates were distributed to those who completed the Income Generation Training on Spice making held earlier this month. Program ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Jyoti Sonwane (DBDS-Staff) and snacks for all.
