6-December-2018, Koregaon Park (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Pune organized a four days cake making training program at Thite wasti slum in Pune. 14 women from Self-Help Groups underwent this training held under the aegis of ‘Women Empowerment Project’ supported by Manos Unidas, Spain.
Miss Shweta Walhekar was the trainer for cake making training program. The trainees learn to make seven different types of cake i.e. Pineapple, Black forest, Vanilla, Rum boll, Chocolate, Mava cake, and Vanilla cup cake. The training were held in afternoon every day when women are free to participate. After demonstrations of the cake making process, the participants practiced and prepared the cake themselves. Mr. Nagsen Chavan (Coordinator – DBDS) conducted a session on the business opportunities in bakery industry.
