28-December-2018, Mumbai: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a one day training on ‘Investment Planning’ for women from low income group residing in Sion-Koliwada slum in Mumbai. 35 women participated in this workshop.

Mr. Dinesh Dedhia (Public Relation Inspector) from Mahim post office was the resource person for the training. Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer - DBDS) welcomed the participants and resource person. The workshop focused on the saving and investment behaviour of people. He compared risk and returns of different assets classes like gold, equity, real estate etc.

He further urged the participants to save money and invest smartly so that they could have good returns from the investments. Detailed information on investment in small saving schemes, pension schemes, etc. was given. After training 24 women filled up the forms of Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana, PPF & saving account. Ms. Basanti Solanki (DBDS – Staff) made the necessary arrangements for this workshop.
