Mumbai, 12-January-2019: The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Mumbai organized a two days training on ‘savings and investments’ for women from low income group residing in Indira Nagar slum in Mumbai. 50 women participated in this workshop which was organized under the aegis of ‘MGL Disha Project’ supported by MAHANAGAR GAS LIMITED.

Mr. Dinesh Dedhia (Public Relation Inspector) from Mahim post office was the resource person for the training. Ms. Surekha Pednekar (Project Officer - DBDS) welcomed the participants and resource person. The workshop focused on the saving and investment behaviour of people. He compared risk and returns of different assets classes like gold, equity, real estate etc.

He further urged the participants to save money and invest smartly so that they could have good returns from the investments. Detailed information on investment in small saving schemes, pension schemes, etc. was given. After training 15 women filled up form of Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana and post office saving account. Ms. Basanti Solanki (DBDS – Staff) made the necessary arrangements for this workshop.
