495 CAKE MAKING TRAINING FOR SLUM WOMEN

29-January-2019, Chinchwad (Pune): The Don Bosco Development Society (DBDS), Chinchwad organized a one day training workshop on ‘Cake and Mouth-freshener Making’ for the Self-Help Group (SHG) women from the slum of Ajantha Nagar under the aegis of ‘Health Risk Reduction’ project supported by AXA Business Services Ltd.

The workshop began with a brief welcome of participants and resource persons by Ms. Lalita Chaudhari (Coordinator-DBDS). Mrs. Vasudha Dalvi (Jr. Technical instructor) and Mrs. Lalita Mahajan (Sr. Technical instructor) were the resource persons. The training was held in association with ‘Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya’ which is a government recognized training institution.
The objective of this training was to impart skills and knowledge on micro business for supplementary income to the women connected with this project.

35 women successfully completed the entire training. During the training 5 different kinds of cakes and 2 types of mouth-freshener were taught to the participants. These included Tea time cake, Chocolate cake, Pineapple cake, Doll cake and Cupcake. Mrs. Vibhwari Kamble (DBDS- Staff) did the logistical arrangement for this Training.
